Julie Close, Turkey Creek Township Trustee-elect
TURKEY CREEK TOWNSHIP — Republicans swept the field in Turkey Creek Township for township trustee and township advisory board during the election.
Republican Julie Close won 67.51 percent of the vote against her Democratic challenger Martha Stoelting, who received 32.49 percent of the vote with 2,942. Close received 1986 votes while Stoelting received 956 votes.
In the race for township advisory board, Dennis Darr, William “Bill” Dixon and John D. Heckaman beat out Democratic challengers Jama Owens Brown, Victoria Carvey Morton and Tim Yeager.
Countywide, Darr received 25.27 percent of the vote, Dixon 24.88 percent and Heckaman 23.41 percent while Owens Brown received 7.79 percent, Carvey Morton, 8.03 percent and Yeager 10.62 percent.
In precinct 1 Close received 66.90 percent or 382 votes while Stoelting received 33.10 percent or 189 votes.
Darr received 24.55 percent or 340 votes; Dixon received 25.05 percent or 347 votes and Heckaman received 23.68 percent or 328 votes.
Owens Brown received 8.01 percent or 111 votes; Carvey Morton received 8.52 percent or 118 votes and Yeager received 10.18 percent or 141 votes.
In precinct 2 Close received 66.71 percent or 184 votes while Stoelting received 34.29 percent or 96 votes.
Darr received 25.04 percent or 156 votes; Dixon received 24.56 percent or 153 votes; Heckaman received 21.99 percent or 137 votes.
Owens Brown received 8.99 percent or 56 votes, Carvey Morton received 8.51 percent or 53 votes and Yeager received 10.91 percent or 68 votes.
In precinct 3 Close received 63.87 percent or 350 votes while Stoelting received 36.13 percent or 198 votes.
Darr received 25.57 percent or 338, Dixon received 25.04 percent or 331 votes and Heckaman received 23.60 percent or 312 votes.
Owens Brown received 7.03 percent or 93 votes, Carvey Morton received 8.25 percent or 109 votes and Yeager received 10.51 percent or 139 votes.
In precinct 4 Close received 66.75 percent or 267 votes while Stoelting received 33.25 percent or 133 votes.
Darr received 24.45 percent or 233 votes, Dixon received 24.76 percent or 236 votes and Heckaman received 22.88 percent or 218 votes.
Owens Brown received 8.08 percent or 77 votes, Carvey Morton received 7.87 percent or 75 votes and Yeager received 11.96 percent or 114 votes.
In precinct 5 Close received 72.25 percent or 500 votes while Stoelting received 27.75 percent or 192 votes.
Darr received 26.92 percent or 456 votes, Dixon received 25.44 percent or 431 votes and Heckaman received 24.91 percent or 422 votes.
Owens Brown received 6.97 percent or 118 votes, Carvey Morton received 6.20 percent or 105 votes and Yeager received 9.56 percent or 162 votes.
In precinct 6 Close received 67.18 percent or 303 votes while Stoelting received 32.82 percent or 148 votes.
Darr received 24.08 percent or 261 votes, Dixon received 23.89 percent or 259 votes and Heckaman received 21.77 percent or 236 votes.
Owens Brown received 8.76 percent or 95 votes, Carvey Morton received 9.87 percent or 107 votes and Yeager received 11.62 percent or 126 votes.
